I’m gonna be basic and get right into this. These are albums that have stuck to me and will FOREVER hold a special place in my heart.
10. Father John Misty – God’s Favorite Customer
I just recently got SUPER into this album, but it has already stolen my heart. It is one of the few albums that I have COMPLETELY saved in my songs on Spotify.
9. The Paper Kites – On The Train Ride Home
I have loved The Paper Kites for a while, but only select songs. One day I was bored and searching on Spotify for things and I stumbled upon this album. It is absolutely beautiful and is an emotional rollercoaster for me.
8. Panic! At The Disco – A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out
This album has had me for YEARS now. I absolutely love it and I never got enough of it. I know 85% of the words on this WHOLE album and I have made some wonderful memories to some of these songs (PS: the high note in Camisado when Brendon sings it live gets me every time. If you wanna know what I’m talking about, click here. The video starts right before he hits the note).
7. John Mayer – Continuum
I have said it before and I will say it again: I want to marry this man. He is the most beautiful man I have ever had the fortune of hearing. I would pay him $50 to break my heart and write about it. This album is just iconic to my little emotional self.
6. Lights – Siberia (Acoustic)
Back story: I was sort of into Lights a WHILE back, and I came across this album. I was getting into more soft and acoustic sounds at the time, so without even thinking, I went out and bought it without ever hearing it until I got home. I actually fell in love with it and I still get a lot of these songs stuck in my head sometimes.
5. Ed Sheeran – +
This is such a dreamy album. I had the CD for this, but I played it so much that the case was practically falling apart. I’m a hopeless romantic.
4. Sam Smith – In The Lonely Hour
There is something about the raw emotions that this album emits that gets me every time. Each song has a personal meaning for me. I have played this album over and over and over before for months and I can honestly say that I will never get tired of it. The lyrics in this album inspire me to be raw with my writing.
3. Mumford and Sons – Sigh No More
I guess I’m sort of bias because my mom hooked me on this album when it first came out. She always played it, which I hated at first, but then I eventually ended up loving it. My favorite song on this album is White Blank Page. I would LOVE to see them live one day. The energy would be unreal.
2. Owl City – Ocean Eyes
I have such a deep connection with this album. I think of my sadness, my happiness, me as a being. There are one or two songs that I dislike on this album, but I can honestly say that some of these songs changed my life and helped me grow. If anyone remembers me in middle school, I used to be OBSESSED with Owl City and Adam Young in general. His music helped me through so many rough times in my life, and this album was the main key to that. He was honestly the one person at the time who told me that it was okay to be weird and love the dreaminess of life.
1. Coldplay – Parachutes
This is my current all time favorite album. I have this on vinyl and I have it constantly spinning in my room.
I say that I am emotional, but I honestly am sometimes to the point of self-destruction. I love the philosophical views of love, heartbreak, and sadness. This album always makes me think a lot of loved ones (past and present ones). This album makes me think about what I have done, what they have done, and what is being done right now to both parties.
I have even said on multiple occasions to multiple people that I want We Never Change to play at my funeral.
This album is pure inspiration and pure emotion to me. There’s no fame and fortune behind it, there’s no flash and sparkle added for effect to drag people in. It’s just raw and it feels as though my own thoughts are pouring out into songs.
If you wish to only listen to one album from this list, I BEG OF YOU TO LISTEN TO THIS ONE.
Thanks again for all of the love and support. I have been going through a lot lately and you guys honestly keep my head up so so much.
Seriously, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you all.
